Admiralty Law

Admiralty law or Maritime Law concerns rules, laws and even treaties that govern maritime business and other matters such as shipping or offenses occurring on open water or near or on the ports. In Pakistan, Admiralty Law mainly is governed by Carriage of Goods by Sea Act 1925 (Hague Rules), Merchant Shipping Ordinance 2001. Admiralty jurisdiction in Pakistan rest with Sindh and Baluchistan High Courts by virtue of “Admiralty Jurisdiction of High Court Ordinance, 1980” and we have extensive practice in this regard across both the provinces. We deal with claims arising out of ship breaking industry.
